• Appledore Book Festival - Author Visit — Sarah Tagholm will be joining year one in the morning to share her latest book is Where are my massive flying wings? Little caterpillar can't wait to become a butterfly, swoop-a-looping with massive flying wings. But there is TOO MUCH WAITING. First you have to eat LOTS of leaves. Then you have to make a cocoon . . . and wait some MORE before you can grow wings and fly! But what happens if you come out of your cocoon to find that you're not a butterfly after all? Could there be another destiny in wait?

• Woodland Clinic — To support our science topic this term (seasonal changes and plants) we will be taking a walk through the Woodland Clinic to observe autumnal changes in the forest.
• School Photo Day — Tempest Photography are in school for the annual school photos.The good news? They'll look adorable. The bad news? Your wallet might need a little lie-down afterwards. Please make sure children arrive with their best smiles at the ready.
• KS1 Halloween Discos

  Get ready for a little Hogwarts magic! We're transforming East-the-Water Hall into a spellbinding Halloween party, packed with music, dancing, games and magical treats. Whether your little witch or wizard is ready to cast a spell on the dance floor or simply enjoys a good boogie, there's plenty of fun in store!

  When is it?: Reception / Year 1: 3:30pm–4:15pm & Year 2: 4:30pm–5:30pm

  Drop-off & collection: As the disco is taking place in school, children attending the Reception / Year 1 disco will go straight from their classrooms to the disco at the end of the school day, please collect from their classrooms. For the Year 2 disco, please collect your child from the main school entrance at 5:30pm.

  A trip to Honeydukes: Every child will receive 2 Galleons to spend at the Honeydukes Tuck Shop on snacks. This is included in the ticket price, so there's no need to send in extra tuck shop money! We'll also have free, unlimited Polyjuice Potion (squash) available throughout the disco to keep our little witches and wizards refreshed.

  Dress to impress… or don't: Fancy dress is welcome but absolutely not compulsory. Come as a witch, wizard, ghost, magical creature or simply yourself! We'll be awarding prizes for Best Dancer and Best Dressed so get practising those magical moves!
